NAB 2011: Recap and Highlights

NAB 2011 has come and gone once again. Just like NAB events of the past, we have many highlights we’d like to share with you.

  • Broadcast Engineering Conference Presentation
  • LPTV – Taking Center Stage Event at Las Vegas Hilton
  • Attendance up 5% from last year
  • Business Development picking up

This year’s conference got off to a great start with the Broadcast Engineering Conference starting on Sunday. Dan Barton was invited to present his topic, “Distributed Antenna Repeater Systems for Mobile TV Broadcast.” The presentation was well received by all of the attendees.  The topic covered exploring the viability of mobile handset content delivery with the assistance of a distributed antenna repeater system. Dan explored a real life implementation example covering a technique to utilize  existing system infrastructure while detailing the design and equipment used during the study. The application is targeted to heavily occupied venues such as stadiums, city centers, and mass transit where current broadcast techniques may be limited but ample opportunity exists to target audience with personalized over-the-air broadcasting.

Monday night, Las Vegas Hilton played host to the LPTV – Taking Center Stage Event. Alive Telecom would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend the event. We were very pleased with the attendance and were excited to be apart of the event.

This year’s event featured Peter Tannenwald of Fletcher Heald and Hildreth, PLC sharing the latest information regarding broadcast spectrum as it moves into the future of wireless broadband and content delivery. The festivities enjoyed great conversations and included a cocktail reception and door prizes.

Overall, NAB 2011 was a success. Attendance was up 5% from the previous year. Mobile TV had its own pavilion dedicated to its rise. And 3DTV was all the buzz.

Alive Telecom met with many people from all over the industry. We’re excited for the projects that are in the pipeline and we’re even expecting a rise in our international presence. We look forward to sharing our experience  with you and invite everyone to share their comments.

Thanks,

Alive Telecom
